Open Rewards is a loyalty program (Openrewards.com) that lets shoppers earn cash back when they shop at participating businesses in National Landing. It is designed to strengthen the local economy by shopping locally.

By incentivizing purchases at small and independent businesses, Open Rewards drives foot traffic and repeat customers. Merchants benefit from increased visibility and zero-cost participation.

When you shop locally in National Landing, you're doing more than making a purchase; you’re investing in your community. Every dollar spent helps small businesses thrive and keeps the neighborhood unique and vibrant.

Each qualifying purchase earns 10% cashback (5% from Arlington County’s BizLaunch and 5% from National Landing BID). Cashback rates increase to 15% during heritage months (e.g., AANHPI, Hispanic Heritage, Black History, Women’s History, Pride Month, and others) and additional promotions throughout the year. In addition to cashback rewards, select purchases may be eligible for vouchers, with amounts determined in coordination with specific events or promotional campaigns.

There is no minimum or maximum spending amount; however, cashback rewards will not exceed $20. In other words, purchases of $100 or more will earn a maximum of $20 in cashback rewards.  

Yes, any payment method is accepted as long as the receipt to be uploaded in the app is valid and itemized. Simply upload the receipt through the app to claim and redeem your rewards. You may also link your credit card directly to the app and avoid uploading a receipt as the purchase will be verified through the credit card statement accessed through the app. 

You can claim 10-15% rewards from participating businesses in National Landing and 5% rewards from participating businesses in Arlington County but outside of National Landing. You can redeem rewards with any participating business in Open Rewards. All participating businesses are listed in the Open Rewards app. 

Once you upload your receipt or link the purchase from your card in the app, the app will confirm whether it meets the criteria (e.g., valid date, participating business, etc.). You will receive a notification when the value is added to your Open Rewards Balance. 

Earned rewards from purchases and redeemed vouchers expire three months after accrual.

Yes—users must download the Open Rewards app and create a free account to participate. The app is available on iOS and Android phones and serves as your dashboard for claiming and redeeming rewards. 

You can cancel your Open Rewards account at any time.

Open Rewards does not “share, sell, or rent any of your personal data to outside companies”. You can find the Open Rewards privacy policy and more information here.
