It’s incredibly fast and easy to reach, explore, and commute to National Landing. The neighborhood offers one of the most interconnected transportation hubs in the world with direct access and abundant transit options to DC, Alexandria, and far beyond. Embracing a no-car lifestyle? Metrorail, Virginia Railway Express (VRE), bus, bike, and scooter options are all available throughout National Landing. Getting to your DC office is a breeze (you may get there faster than some of your District-residing coworkers), and so is travel to major cities across the country, with National Airport in your backyard.

Bike culture is strong in National Landing thanks to a variety of events, creative partnerships, and investments in new infrastructure. Whether you’re commuting, training, or sight-seeing, a vast network of picturesque trails, including the Mount Vernon Trail, will get you where you need to go. You’ll also find conveniences including Capital Bikeshare, repair stands and shops, and ample bike parking. Scooters are readily available, making it easier than ever to explore the neighborhood and beyond. Docking stations can be found throughout National Landing for convenient charging and parking.

Metro & Rail

Metro’s Yellow and Blue lines take you to downtown DC in minutes and serve all of National Landing’s neighborhoods via the Pentagon, Pentagon City, Crystal City, and Potomac Yard Metrorail stations. Catch the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) commuter rail near the Crystal City station for a quick ride to DC’s Union Station with access to Amtrak trains. Plans are also underway for a pilot to extend MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) service to Crystal City, creating a direct link from Baltimore and the greater Maryland suburbs to National Landing.

Bus

Multiple bus lines serve National Landing via Metroway, Arlington Regional Transit (ART), and WMATA’s Metrobus. Extensive bus connectivity allows commuters to get where they need to go when they need to go. The 16-M Columbia Pike–National Landing Metrobus route conveniently connects the two thriving Arlington district.

By car, National Landing connects directly to Interstate 395, George Washington Parkway, and Routes 1 and 110. If you care to share a ride, check out Zipcar, Lyft and Uber. More than 10,000 public parking spaces are available throughout National Landing, and most parking is free after 4 p.m. and on weekends.

National Landing is one of the only urban neighborhoods in the world within walking distance to an airport. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is just five minutes away by car, Metro, or bike, and as little as 15 minutes by foot. Learn more about the CC2DCA pedestrian bridge, an innovative project in the works that will create a five-minute walk from Crystal Drive to DCA. In addition, Dulles International Airport is less than 30 minutes away.
