See Molly McCracken's work in the studio and learn about her practice as a collage, paint, and assemblage artist. Talk begins at 6:30pm.
Molly McCracken, Artist in Residence, and MoCA Arlington Senior Curator, Blair Murphy, will discuss Molly's practice and the work she's focused on during the 8-week residency at the Innovation Studio.
Molly's colorful and eclectic work is accredited to many inspirations, including maps, puzzles, and her grandmother. She gives credit to her grandmother, a geologist, for teaching her to pay close attention to details. Starting with the lines and expanding from there, her work is incredibly process-driven.
During her time in the Innovation Studio she is managing a surplus of projects, one being a daily collage calendar. Molly is excited to share her work with the community, and welcomes visitors to become a part of the process and her current journey. Join us to hear how her work comes to be, and the messy steps in between.
"The mess is a part of the process."
Talk will begin at 6:30pm.
