National Landing Community Clean-Ups
Join us for a National Landing Community Clean-Up and help keep our neighborhood looking its best! Whether you live, work, or simply visit National Landing, this event is a fantastic way to give back, connect with neighbors, and be part of the transformation happening in our community.
Upcoming Events:
Earth Day Community Clean-Up: April 22, 2026 - Water Park | 1601 Crystal Drive | 10AM-12PM
What to Expect:
- We’ll gather at the Crystal City Water Park for a brief welcome and orientation before heading out to clean nearby streets and public spaces.
- Volunteers will receive cleanup materials on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You’ll have the chance to explore the neighborhood while picking up litter and making a visible impact in our community.
🎯 New This Year: Friendly Competition
We’ll be weighing collected trash using a hanging scale throughout the event. Prizes will be awarded for the top two heaviest bags. Winners will receive Open Rewards Cash vouchers to use at local businesses!
🔋 Battery Recycling Pop-Up (Hosted by National Waste & Recycling Association)
Participants are invited to bring common household batteries for safe drop-off, including:
- Single-use batteries (AA, AAA, 9-volt, C, D)
- Button cell batteries (watches, hearing aids, small electronics)
- Rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion and NiCad from phones, laptops, power tools, etc.)
Please note:
- Batteries must be removed from devices prior to drop-off
- NWRA is not able to accept car batteries, vapes, or large-format/industrial batteries
- Volunteers will receive a free community clean-up t-shirt (while supplies last).
Post-Cleanup Social Hour:
After the event, we invite you to stick around for some appetizers, light refreshments, and a chance to connect with fellow volunteers at Water Bar. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate your impact!
Additional Details:
• Registration is required. Please sign to help us manage equipment. By registering to volunteer you are agreeing to our Photo Release and Liability waiver.
• Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Minors should be accompanied by a guardian.
• Bring water.
• Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes that are suitable for walking.
