In honor of Park(ing) Day, National Landing will be activating our parklets at 12th and South Fern Street with complimentary coffee, swag, music, and more!

As our parklets bid farewell, we are inviting our community members to share their thoughts on the benefits of reclaiming space for pedestrians by writing a message on our parklets.

What is Park(ing) Day?

Park(ing) day is a global, public, participatory project launched by Rebar in 2005. It is a day where people across the world temporarily re-purpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people. Why Park(ing) Day?

Park(ing) Day is a unique and exciting opportunity to engage in the ongoing dialog around how our cities are designed and built. It began as a guerilla art project and act of design activism in a single parking space, and has grown into a global movement, inspiring the creation of “parklets” and COVID-era “streeteries” in cities across the United States and beyond.
