A Celebration of Arts in Crystal City

Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – Colorful new artwork is blooming around Crystal City this spring – both inside and out. The region’s largest collaborative mural, Mural23, joined the Art Walls collection, Exposed DC has an exhibit in the 1200-foot FotoWalk, and Gallery Underground is hosting a nationally juried show, “Road Trip.” To celebrate, the Crystal City Business Improvement District is hosting an Arts Open House complete with meet the artist gatherings, exhibition openings, music, and a return of the massive outdoor painting party at the Crystal Wynwood Mural with ArtJamz.

Mural 23 Dedication
Plaza @ WeWork Crystal City - 2111 S. Clark Street
Help the community welcome this incredible addition to the Crystal City ArtWalls collection. Curated by Pipkin Creative Communications and completed in a collaboration between the Crystal City BID, Vornado/Charles E. Smith, and WeWork, Mural23 includes the raw talents of Criomatic, Miss Chelove, Mas Paz, and Jeff Huntington. Spanning over 400 feet, the new piece is the largest collaborative mural in the region. Stop by the official dedication for chats with the artists, food, drink, and music.

Exposed DC FotoWalk Exhibition Reception
Synetic Theater Lobby – 1800 S. Bell Street (Lower Level)
Take in 148 of Exposed DC’s favorite photos from the past ten years along the 1200-foot Fotowalk Exhibit in the Crystal City Art Underground. Meet representatives and photographers from Exposed DC over conversation, beverages and lite fare.

Road Trip Gallery Exhibition Opening
Gallery Underground – Crystal City Shops @ 2100 Crystal Drive (Suite 2120-A)
The Gallery Underground will be holding an opening for “Road Trip,” a national show juried by artist Michael Francis. Winning pieces will portray the subject of a road trip - literally, figuratively, and metaphorically. Scenes include from the road, trips imagined, solo or group journeys in all manner of transportation. Beer, wine and lite fare will be served. Bring your credit card so you can purchase your favorite pieces!

ArtJamz in the Street
Crystal Wynwood Mural – 1900 Crystal Drive
ArtJamz returns for the biggest and best outdoor painting party with the built-in inspiration of the Crystal Wynwood Wall. Painting sessions are available at 5:00pm and 7:00pm and last one and a half hours and are available at 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Sessions cost $25 and include paint, canvas, food, and drink. If you can’t make either of the Friday evening sessions, reserve a canvas for one of the other weekend slots on Saturday or Sunday!
