Crystal City BID Embarks on New Direction
President/CEO Angela Fox Steps Down
Crystal City (Arlington), Va.-- Today the Board of Directors of the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is announcing that Angela Fox has stepped down as President/CEO of the Crystal City BID, a post she held since 2006.
“We appreciate the hard work that Angie has done on behalf of the Crystal City BID for the past 11 years,” said Glenda MacMullin, Crystal City BID Board Chair and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Consumer Technology Association. “When Angie first joined to lead the BID, Crystal City was known primarily as the local home for large government entities. With the Base Realignment and Closure Act (BRAC) government occupancy decreased significantly and Crystal City now is known as the home for diverse restaurants, high energy events and vibrant new tenants. Crystal City has grown to become a choice address for businesses, individuals and area visitors with its proximity to transportation, housing and hotel accommodations. We thank Angie for her enthusiastic leadership.”
“Angie has been a transformative figure for Crystal City and her efforts have created real value. Her creativity and energy will be missed,” said Nora Dweck-McMullen, Crystal City BID Co-Vice Chair and Chief Operating Officer at Dweck Properties.
“The BID Board of Directors will immediately conduct a search for a new President/CEO in order to strengthen Crystal City’s position as one of the largest and most dynamic urban centers in the region,” added MacMullin.
In the meantime, Robert H. Mandle, Chief Operating Officer of the organization, will continue to move forward with the programming and economic development efforts that are at the core of the Crystal City BID. To assist in the transition and efforts moving forward, Rich Bradley, former Executive Director of the Downtown BID and current Principal of the Urban Partnership, will serve as the interim president. Bradley will help provide executive leadership for the organization over the next four months and help shape a new strategic plan for the organization.
Please direct any questions regarding the transition and upcoming efforts to Rob Mandle, COO, rmandle@crystalcity.org.
