Fall Events in National Landing

NATIONAL LANDING FALLS INTO AUTUMN WITH FREE DYNAMIC EVENTS  

Enjoy Farmers Markets, Fitness Classes, Live Music Series, Oktoberfest, an Innovation Festival and more across Crystal City, Pentagon City and Potomac Yard this fall    

WHAT: Celebrate the cooler weather in National Landing with a calendar full of community events for all ages, including free events hosted by the National Landing BID like outdoor fitness classes, live music series and community clean-ups. Other neighborhood events include farmers markets, Oktoberfest celebrations, and Halloween festivities—alongside special events including the first-ever AI Unlocked, a two-day free festival with programming for all ages.   
 
For those looking to get festive this fall, there’s something for everyone: 

  • Fit @ Met: Join DC Fray and National Landing BID at Met Park on Wednesdays from 8 to 9 a.m. for free, instructor-led fitness classes. Try the new Punch Card Prize Program where you can collect stamps for every class you attend and win prizes along the way. No experience required. 
  • WHEN: Wednesdays, 8 to 9 a.m. through October 22

  • Fit @ Potomac Yard: Join DC Fray and National Landing BID at Center Park on Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. for free, instructor-led fitness classes. Collect stamps for every class you attend with the new Punch Card Prize Program to win prizes along the way. No experience required.

  • NaLa Noches: Visit Metropolitan Park for NaLa Noches, a free Latin music series curated by DC trumpet legend Joe Herrera and produced by the National Landing BID. Each week showcases a different style of Latin music including salsa, boleros, Venezuelan jazz and Brazilian rhythms. Guests can also enjoy food on-site from Taqueria Xochi, free Topo Chico (while supplies last), art activities from the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington and giveaways from the National Landing BID.

  • Amazon Community Day: Join Amazon HQ2 in celebrating their second anniversary in National Landing. This free, family-friendly event is packed with fun for all ages, including outdoor activities, a culinary scavenger hunt and a Boozy Brunch Garden.

  • Met Park Farmers Market: Visit Metropolitan Park every Tuesday and Saturday for the Met Park Farmers Market, produced by Eat Loco. Shop fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods from local farmers and artisans.  
  • WHEN: Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the week of October 13

  • Surreal Oktoberfest @ National Landing: Join Surreal on Saturday, October 4 for an Oktoberfest celebration filled with music, games and festivities. The outdoor patio and park will transform into a lively beer garden with long communal tables, festive décor and beer served in classic steins. Guests can enjoy authentic German food, live entertainment, and contests like stein-holding and a costume competition.

  • AI Unlocked: Join Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) in collaboration with JBG Smith, for a groundbreaking free two-day festival in National Landing. Friday programming features top experts discussing AI’s transformative impact on policy, innovation, and real-world applications. Saturday brings a vibrant outdoor festival with family-friendly activities, local vendors, and entertainment showcasing how AI is reshaping everything from art and music to sports and storytelling.

  • Water Park Fall Festival with Maker's Valley: Join Maker’s Valley at Water Park for a weekend filled with live music, local vendors, handmade goods, food, drinks and fun for all ages. 
  • WHEN: October 25 and 26 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Marine Corps Marathon: An annual marathon event held in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Virginia, featuring 10K runs all the way to a full 31-mile marathon.

  • Halloween Trick or Treat: Bring your kids to Water Park for candy at each kiosk, face painting, pumpkin painting and more. Adults can enjoy seasonal sips and bites from Water Bar.

  • Community Clean-Up: Join National Landing for its second fall community clean-up to keep the neighborhood looking its best! Supplies like trash grabbers, bags, gloves and safety vests are available for volunteers. The first 50 registrants receive a limited-edition clean-up t-shirt. Participants are invited to stay after for a social hour at Water Bar with complimentary snacks and drinks.
