National Landing BID Celebrates the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Peppermint Mocha Competition, Holiday Market, Christmas Tree Pop-Up, Lights and More in National Landing, Starting December 4

‘Tis the Season to Celebrate at National Landing! Join the National Landing BID for holiday festivities, lights and merriment as the National Landing community celebrates the most wonderful time of year. From a peppermint mocha competition to a Christmas tree pop-up and a holiday market featuring area-vendors, to light displays and cozy winter lodges, there will be no shortage of holiday cheer and fun for all ages in National Landing this year. National Landing’s holiday festivities will run from December 4 to December 18, 2021.

WHAT TO DO: The National Landing BID is kicking off the holiday season with festivities across Virginia’s largest downtown:

• Christmas Tree Pop-Up: Looking for the perfect Christmas tree to spark the holiday spirit? We've got you covered. Come pick out the perfect mini tree or wreath to light up your home at National Landing’s Christmas Tree Farm Pop-Up
  Date & Time: Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
  Location: Freddie's Beach Bar at 555 23rd St S, Arlington, VA 22202
   
• Peppermint Mocha Competition: Join National Landing for the inaugural Peppermint Mocha Latte Competition. Commonwealth Joe, The Freshman, and Origin Coffee Lab & Kitchen will offer free samples of their signature holiday drink, and guests can vote on their favorite. The winner will receive an official Peppermint Mocha Competition trophy to display with pride for years to come.
  Date & Time: Sunday, December 12 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

• National Landing Holiday Market: In partnership with DCBB Productions, Bun’d Up and Made in Arlington, National Landing’s Holiday Market will be a two-day event featuring merriment and local vendors. From vintage clothing to art, jewelry, collectibles, crafts and delicious food, National Landing’s Holiday Market will provide guests the opportunity to shop locally this holiday season. Vendors include: Jasmine Designs, Mustafa’s Rugs, Capital Vintage, No Encore Club and Everybody Sweet. Bun’d Up will curate food vendors as well.   Date & Time: Friday, December 17 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday, December 18 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

• National Landing Winter Lodges: Cozy up in a winter lodge and snap an Instagram or two. The National Landing BID is transforming local-favorite Summer Houses into festive holiday themed lodges for the winter season.
  Date & Time: Winter lodges will be open to the public daily starting in December.

WHAT TO SEE: In addition to festive activations, National Landing is your go-to destination for stunning holiday light displays and more this holiday season. From window displays to large-scale installations, a visit to National Landing this season will be like walking in a winter wonderland:

• Fallen Stars: Fallen Stars is an immersive winter lights art installation created by international artist team, amigo & amigo. Located at Gateway Green, 101 12th Street South.
   
• White Lights at Long Bridge Park Esplanade: Watch more than 6,000 white and blue lights twinkle along a beautiful walk through the ¾ mile-long Long Bridge Park Esplanade overlooking the Potomac River and Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary. Lights will be illuminated daily through December.

• National Landing Holiday Lights Competition: The National Landing BID invites local businesses to create their own festive light and decorative displays throughout the season. The National Landing community will vote on their favorite displays on the BID’s social media pages and winners will receive cash prizes.
