NATIONAL LANDING BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SPONSORS LOCAL ESTABLISHMENTS’ PARTICIPATION IN SUMMER RESTAURANT WEEK
National Landing Restaurants Gain Membership to RAMW as a Result of the BID’s Contribution
Arlington, VA – August 13, 2020 – For the first time ever, every restaurant in National Landing, which encompasses the neighborhoods of Crystal City, Pentagon City and Potomac Yard-Arlington, will be able to participate in summer Restaurant Week at no cost, thanks to generous support from the National Landing Business Improvement District (BID), developer JBG SMITH and Events DC.
Through a partnership with the Restaurant Association of Metro Washington (RAMW), the National Landing BID will cover the cost of RAMW membership and administrative fees associated with RAMW’s Restaurant Week promotion. Through a separate sponsorship program, JBG SMITH and Events DC have agreed to cover the participation fee for all RAMW members, which will ensure that any interested National Landing restaurant can partake free of charge.
“We are thrilled to expand our ongoing support for National Landing’s restaurants through our partnership with RAMW,” said Tracy Sayegh Gabriel, president and executive director of the BID. “Our local restaurants have accepted the recent challenges head on, nimbly adjusting their operations to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and navigating through the various stages of reopening. We are confident that Restaurant Week will bring them increased business by encouraging locals and people throughout the region to safely visit the dynamic dining scene here in National Landing.”
The two-week promotion will run from August 17 through August 30 and include more than a dozen participating National Landing restaurants that represent a variety of cuisines and a diversity of cultures. Unlike in previous years, the restaurants have a variety of price points and promos to choose from, including multi-course lunch and dinner options, take-out offerings, fast casual restaurant packages and cocktails to-go.
In addition to Restaurant Week, National Landing eateries will also have access to the valuable resources, discounts on key services, legislative advocacy, hospitality industry connections and endless marketing opportunities that come with being RAMW members. Through the BID’s sponsorship, more than 40 National Landing restaurants will now enjoy RAMW member benefits for a year, and National Landing restaurants that are already RAMW members are eligible for reimbursement of their annual membership fee.
The BID’s partnership with RAMW is the newest way that the organization is demonstrating its support for small businesses in an effort to enhance their long-term viability. In April, the BID announced a $100,000 contribution to Arlington’s Small Business Emergency GRANT Program, which, along with County funding, provided immediate financial assistance to more than 75 small businesses in the National Landing area impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The BID also launched its #LoveNationalLanding campaign, an ongoing art initiative that kicked off with the unveiling of painted storefronts designed to enliven the streetscape and uplift the community.
Eateries participating in Restaurant Week include: Athena Pallas, Bonsai Grill, Enjera Restaurant, Epic Smokehouse, Extreme Pizza, Freddie’s Beach Bar & Restaurant, Highline RxR, Jaleo by Jose Andres, La Bettola Italiano, Los Tios Grill, Peruvian Brothers at The Stand, Portofino, San Antonio Bar & Grill and Taj of India.
