Notice - Road Closures Fridays in April

Good Afternoon -

The upcoming Crystal City 5K Fridays race series scheduled for Fridays in April (April 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th) will close a number of area roads and impact how area residents, guests, and workers access and leave garage and parking facilities during the event (between the hours of 6:15 PM and 7:45 PM). Please pass along and post the Road Closure Notification Document to ensure that everyone can plan accordingly. The document includes information on how individual properties' garages and driveways are impacted and how to access them. Detailed maps are also included to provide further clarity.

We have also created a one-page closure notification document for easy posting in common areas.

Multiple Road Closures / Limited Access
Crystal City
Crystal Run – 5K Fridays
April 7, 14, 21, and 28
6:15 PM to 7:45 PM

The following lane closures will be in effect:

  • Rear access alley behind the Parks Buildings (2011, 2121, 2231, 2345, and 2451 Crystal Drive)
  • Horseshoe driveways at 2121 and 2345 Crystal Drive (parking will be restricted)
  • North Bound Lanes of Crystal Drive between 26th Street and 23rd Street
  • North Bound Lanes of Crystal Drive (including bicycle lanes) between 23rd Street and 12th Street
  • West Bound Lane of 12th Street between Crystal Drive and Long Bridge Drive/S. Clark Street (Including bicycle lane; on-street parking restrictions in effect)
  • 10th Street S. between Long Bridge Drive and the North Tract Lofts access drive (on-street parking restrictions in effect)
  • S. Ball Street Between 10th Street S. and 6th Street S. (on-street parking restrictions in effect)
  • North Tract Lofts Access Drive between 10th Street S. and 6th Street S. (on-street parking restrictions in effect)
  • 6th Street S. between Long Bridge Drive and North Tract Lofts access drive (on-street parking restrictions in effect)
  • Long Bridge Drive (all lanes including bicycle lanes) from 12th Street to just south of Boundary Channel Drive (on-street parking restrictions in effect)

***South Bound Lane of Crystal Drive will remain open***

VRE Riders of Fredericksburg Line Train #315 (scheduled Crystal City departure at 6:55pm) and the Manassas Line Train #337 (scheduled Crystal City departure at 7:05p)

Please add 5-10 minutes of on-foot travel time to get to the station. From points south of 23rd Street, walk up the WEST side of Crystal Drive and cross at the crosswalk located directly across the street from the station. You may have to wait a few minutes for a gap of sufficient size to safely cross.

Metroway Riders Headed Northbound

After stopping at the 27th & Crystal Drive Station, the Metroway bus will be rerouted to travel north along Route 1 and will go directly to the Crystal City Metro during the closure period. There will be no stops or pickups at the 18th & Crystal Drive or 23rd & Crystal Drive stations. Please plan accordingly. South bound routing will not be affected.

Impacted Garage/Parking Facilities - See Attached Maps for Additional Detail

If your facility/building is not listed here, direct access to parking garage/driveway entrances/exits is not anticipated, however, regional road closures may impact the most direct travel route.

220 Twentieth Street (220 20th Street): Access to the garage entrance at 2100 Crystal Drive will be maintained. The south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the course of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel route to this facility.

Airport Plaza 1 & 2 (2711 & 2611 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Boeing Regional Headquarters (929 Long Bridge Drive): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

Camden Apartments (3535 S Ball Street): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Century Buildings (2450 Crystal Drive and 2461 S. Clark Street): Access to the garage entrance along Crystal Drive will be maintained. The south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures – especially the north bound lanes of Crystal Drive - as they may affect the most direct travel route to this facility.

Concord Luxury Residences (2600 Crystal Drive): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

CrossFit South Arlington (607 S. Ball Street): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

Courtyard by Marriott (2899 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Crowne Plaza Hotel: Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All lanes lanes of S. Clark Street, the east bound lane of 12th Street and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Crystal Gateway 1, 2, 3, and 4 (1235, 1225, 1215 S. Clark Street and 200 12th Street): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All lanes of S. Clark Street, the east bound lane of 12th Street and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Crystal Gateway North (201 12th Street): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

Crystal Mall Buildings (1801, 1851, and 1901 S. Bell Street): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. The south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the course of the event. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel route to this facility.

Crystal Park 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (2011, 2121, 2231, 2345, and 2451 Crystal Drive): Employees, tenants, and visitors parking in the garage facilities of the Crystal Park buildings will be impacted by this road closure. Access restrictions will be in place for the garage entrance/exit at 2011 Crystal Drive for the duration of the race, however, an on-site Arlington County Police Department Officer may allow access across the road closure when deemed safe. Access restrictions will also be in place for the garage entrance/exit to the rear alley at 2451 Crystal Drive. Note that the garage entrance/exit at 2345 Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All vehicles should be directed to exit at those locations or plan to leave prior to or after the closure period. All vehicles should be directed to exit at the 2345 Crystal Drive entrance/exit or plan to leave prior to or after the closure period. Parking in the surface lot surrounding the courtyard in front of 2121 Crystal Drive and 2345 Crystal Drive will be restricted and inaccessible.

Note for Ruth’s Chris Steak House – The horseshoe driveway will be accessible from 23rd Street up until shortly before the race start (approximately 6:30pm) after which point access will be closed until approximately 7:00pm when the last set of runners passes through the driveway. Any runners that have not passed through the driveway at that time will be diverted by ACPD to the sidewalk in order to permit opening of the driveway for valet operations.

Crystal Place Apartments and Crystal Park Condominiums (1801 and 1805 Crystal Drive): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please note that the rear alley access route will NOT be accessible. Onsite Arlington County Police Department Officers may allow garage access from the entrance across from 18th Street only when deemed safe.

Crystal Plaza Buildings (2100 & 2200 Crystal Drive; 2001 Jefferson Davis Highway; 2221 S. Clark Street; and the Crystal City Shops @2100 & @2200): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. The south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the course of the event. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel route to this facility.

Crystal Square Apartments (1515 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for this building will be maintained. All lanes of S. Bell Street, 15th Street S., and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Crystal Square Buildings (1550 & 1750 Crystal Drive; 251 & 241 18th Street; and Crystal City Shops @1750): Access to garages and driveway entrances for this building will be maintained. All lanes of S. Bell Street, 15th Street S., and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Eclipse on Center Park Condominiums (3600 S. Glebe Road): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Gateway Condominiums & Waterford House (1200 and 1300 Crystal Drive and 200 12th Street): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All lanes of S. Clark Street, the east bound lane of 12th Street and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Hilton Crystal City (2399 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Hyatt Regency Hotel (2799 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Jefferson Plaza 1 and 2 (1400 Crystal Drive and 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All lanes S. Clark Street, the east bound lane of 12th Street and the south bound lane of Crystal Drive will remain open throughout the duration of the event. All residents, employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Marriott Capital View Hotels - Renaissance and Residences Inn (2800 South Potomac Avenue & 2850 South Potomac Avenue): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

North Tract Lofts (305 10th Street): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

One & Two Potomac Yard (2777 Crystal Drive): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Polk & Taylor Buildings (2521 S. Clark Street & 2530 Crystal Drive): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Potomac Gateway (2800 & 2900 Crystal Drive): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.

Public Storage (309 Long Bridge Drive): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

Self Storage Plus (605 S. Ball Street): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. Please refer to alternative parking arrangements.

Water Park Towers (Residents of 1501 and 1505 Crystal Drive): Access restrictions will be in place for garage and driveway entrances/exits to this facility for the duration of the race. An on-site Arlington County Police Department Officer may allow access from the northern-most driveway entrance only when deemed safe.

WeWork/WeLive (2221 S. Clark Street): Access to garages and driveway entrances for these facilities will be maintained. All employees, tenants, and visitors, however, should be informed of the surrounding closures as they may affect the most direct travel routes.
