Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – Sip your way through the month, as Crystal City presents SIPtember, a series of events that brings the community together over fine wine, craft beers, and quality entertainment. Start off with Sips and Sweets at Crystal Screen featuring classic candy and wine-themed movies accompanied by great tastes and samples. End the week an hour earlier with the return of the ever-popular Wine in the Water Park at 5pm every Friday of the month. Next, come dance the day away while sipping wine and tasting the best from Spain, South America, and the region’s restaurants. Finally, bring along your four-legged friend(s) for the area’s dog friendly Pups and Pilsners beer festival.

Sip and Salsa – 10th Annual

The region’s longest running inside the beltway outdoor wine festival returns to Crystal City combining the tastes of Spanish and South American wines from Jaleo and the Crystal City Wine Shop with delicious foods from around the region. Free Salsa dancing lessons from The Salsa Room and live music round out the 10th annual event. Presale tickets are $20 and $25 at the door so save by purchasing online. Pups and Pilsners – 5th Annual

Bring your friends – of both the two and four-legged variety – to the annual Pups and Pilsners outdoor beer festival in Crystal City. This dog-friendly festival features a beer garden with craft brews and offerings from local breweries. Plan a picnic or grab a bite from a local Crystal City restaurant or on-site food truck. Wine in the Water Park & ArtJamz
Every Friday in September, 6-10PM
Across from 1750 Crystal Drive

Crystal City’s popular outdoor beer and wine garden returns for “Siptember” with expanded hours. Now opening immediately after work at 5pm, patrons can ease into the weekend with a delicious beverage, live music, or even a painting session with ArtJamz (limited tickets available). As usual, experts from the Crystal City Wine Shop and the Washington Wine Academy will curate the delicious selections which you can also pick up directly at the store.

Crystal Screen: Sips & Sweets
Every Tuesday in September – Approximately 30 minutes after sunset
Bell Street Courtyard – 1901 S. Bell Street

Indulge in Sips & Sweets along with the characters in this year’s Crystal Screen movie line-up featuring movies about wine, candy, and chocolate. Sips will be available from the Washington Wine Academy pop-up wine bar (cash) with hand-selected offerings from the Crystal City Wine Shop and tasty sample chocolates from Crystal City’s Schakolad will also be available before the start of the movie. Of course, there’s plenty of time to grab a bite at any of Crystal City’s dozens of restaurants or pick-up take-out for a picnic.

  • 9/13/16: Bottle Shock (2008) - The story of the early days of California wine making featuring the now infamous, blind Paris wine tasting of 1976 that has come to be known as "Judgment of Paris".
  • 9/20/16: Chocolat (2000) - A woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the rigid morality of the community.
  • 9/27/16: Sideways (2004) - Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment embark on a week-long road trip through California's wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle.
