SPARK ACTIVITY: EXPERIENCE SPRING IN CRYSTAL CITY

As the 5K Friday’s race series approaches its April 24th finish, the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) prepares to launch its annual line-up of outdoor programming. Starting on Monday, April 27th, Crystal City’s open spaces bloom with activity at weekly yoga and Zumba classes, Sparket – a Creative Market, and Floral Frenzy: Bulb Blitz.

Spark Zen: Monday Morning Yoga & Meditation

When: Starting April 27th, Mondays at 7:00 AM

Where: Crystal City Water Park, 1750 Crystal Drive

Amateur and seasoned yogis can join professional instructors from Mind Your Body Oasis and flex their way into the week with Monday Morning Meditation and Yoga in the Crystal City Water Park across from 1750 Crystal Drive. In the event of inclement weather, the class will be held inside at Mind Your Body Oasis.

Spark Fitness: Outdoor Zumba

When: Starting April 29th, Wednesdays at 12:00 PM  

Where: Courtyard at 2121 Crystal Drive

Join the Crystal City BID, Sport and Health fitness club, and Vornado/Charles E. Smith for free Zumba in the courtyard of 2121 Crystal Drive. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Come out and join the party!

Spark Creativity: Sparket – a Creative Market

When: Starting April 29th, Wednesdays from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Where: Along Crystal Drive, between 18th and 20th Streets

The eclectic and colorful shopping experience of Eastern Market returns to Crystal City with Sparket – a Creative Market. Featuring a diverse mix of arts, crafts, handmade jewelry, accessories, bath and beauty products and other local, handcrafted products as well as live-music and select food products, Sparket aims to provide a new lunchtime attraction for area workers, hotel guests, and residents.

Spark Frenzy: Bulb Blitz

When: Friday, May 1st beginning at 9:30 AM

Where: 2121 Crystal Dr Arlington, VA, 22202

Experts say gardening is good for the soul so grab your straw hat and gardening gloves and dig into the action of the annual Floral Frenzy: Bulb Blitz. Occurring each spring after the beautiful tulip blooms have peaked, the Bulb Blitz invites area residents and workers to dig up the thousands of tulip bulbs from along the sidewalk in front of along 2121 Crystal City Drive for planting at home. Typically discarded after a single season of color, these high quality bulbs will continue to bloom for several years. Grab a spade and beautify your garden.
