SPARK DEDICATION AT THE MARINE CORPS MARATHON FAMILY FESTIVAL

Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – This weekend, Crystal City streets enliven with over 30,000 runners during the 40th annual Marine Corps Marathon, where spectators can spark dedication and experience fun for all ages. The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Vornado/Charles E. Smith is hosting its annual Marine Corps Marathon Family Festival on Sunday, October 25th from 9:30 AM to 2 PM.

“Crystal City is the most ACTIVE neighborhood in Arlington and we are proud to host miles 22 through 24 of the Marine Corps Marathon each year,” said Crystal City BID CEO/ President, Angela Fox. “Our annual festival hosts a fun array of colorful, interactive activities for the whole family, while showcasing the best views of the race.”

Conveniently located near the metro station (on the blue and yellow lines), Crystal City is the perfect place to experience the Marine Corps Marathon with multiple opportunities to cheer on runners and provide encouragement towards the end of the race. Spectators can enjoy delicious restaurants while supporting loved ones. The festival will include engaging activities like moon bounces, face painting, arts and crafts, cotton candy, balloon animals, circus activities, and more.

Location: 1900 Crystal Drive (in front of Crystal Wynwood mural)

When: Sunday, October 25th, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 2 PM

Getting There: Although there is plenty of free parking available in Crystal City should you chose to drive to the event, the best way to get around is by Metro or by Bike. Take the Yellow or Blue line to the Crystal City Metro station, exit to the street, and walk down 18th Street towards Crystal Drive. If you are biking, you can get to Crystal City via Four Mile Run or the Mount Vernon Trail. There are also plenty of CaBi stations located throughout Crystal City.
