National Landing BID Hosts Free Film Screening, Book Giveaway, and Discussion on Housing Equity for Juneteenth

Event Features a Screening of Short Film “Segregated by Design” and Panel Discussion on the Legacy of Housing Segregation and Building a More Just Future

WHAT: In honor of Juneteenth, the National Landing BID invites the community to a powerful screening of “Segregated by Design,” a compelling short documentary based on Richard Rothstein’s book, “The Color of Law” and a Vimeo “Best of the Year” nominee. This impactful event explores the lasting legacy of racial segregation in American housing policy. 

The free screening will be followed by a conversation with Monique Bryant, an Arlington resident and executive director of Challenging Racism, and Arlova Vonhm, Zoning Administrator for Arlington County, on the film’s continued relevance as well as progress in the community today. The first 50 attendees will receive a free copy of “The Color of Law.” All attendees will receive reserved seating along with a complimentary popcorn and beverage of their choice.
