August 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

Summer is heating up in National Landing with an exciting array of events and activations! With movies, music, and an urban beach, we are ready to help our neighborhood soak up every last bit of the summer months. 

We are thrilled to announce that our summer Beach Club getaway is open! We welcome everyone to soak up the sun with their feet in the sand at this beachy escape on Gateway Green. Enjoy an amazing lineup of events at this vibrant oasis. Kicking off with a yacht rock dance party on August 10, the Beach Club will continue to activate with food, music and family-friendly fun. We are calling all the little mermaids, salsa dancing aficionados and dog lovers to come out and enjoy this vacation spot close to home!

Movies in the Park are back every Friday beginning at 6 PM at Virginia Highlands Park. Come sit out underneath the stars for an action-packed lineup of movies outdoors and pack a picnic or grab a bite from a Curbside Kitchen food truck. Dogs are welcome. Next up on the movie list is the 90’s throwback Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Congratulations to the new Amazon Metropolitan Park retailers! We are so excited to have our friends, Peruvian Brothers, back in National Landing. Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe will also add to the neighborhood flavor with a second shop for the veteran and family-owned small business. DC-area spa, Glo30, is opening their first space in Virginia, with membership based routine skincare. Plus, Celebree School of National Landing offers regional expansion for the early-childhood education and care specialist.

With all that being said, there is endless anticipation for what is to come to National Landing. The BID is delighted to bring the community together for enjoyment of the present and quickly developing future!
