December 2021 - Letter from Executive Director

Dear National Landing Community,

With the holiday season upon us, I'm reflecting on the things I'm most grateful for this year and being able to connect again with our community, partners and stakeholders – is certainly at the top of the list. Your unwavering support, engagement and spirited partnership continues to inspire us as we look to build an even brighter future for National Landing and provide unique programs and events to Virginia's largest walkable downtown.

Throughout this holiday season – we look forward to bringing the entire National Landing community together with exciting programs and installations like our Peppermint Mocha Competition taking place this Sunday, December 12 to a stunning holiday lights display along the Long Bridge Park esplanade – featuring 6,000 bright white lights! Be sure to also check out another immersive lights installation by Australian artist team, amigo & amigo – called “Fallen Stars,” located at Gateway Green (101 12th Street South) or take in Synetic Theater’s production of Cinderella with friends and family.

We are also thrilled to be teaming up with DCBB Productions, Bun’d Up and the Made in Arlington artisanal collective to produce the inaugural National Landing two-day Holiday Market which will be free and open to the public. On December 17 and 18, we’ll be taking over Crystal Drive with local vendors selling everything from vintage clothing and art, to jewelry, crafts, food and festive holiday entertainment.

Despite many challenges over the past year, together as a community we have accomplished a lot and have much to be proud of.

On behalf of the entire National Landing BID team, we're wishing you and your loved ones a very happy holiday.

All the best,

Tracy Sayegh Gabriel
President & Executive Director
