October 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

We are turning a new leaf with a fresh season of fall and winter programming on the way. Join us for the return of our annual Oktoberfest - this time, in conjunction with 23rd Street Restaurants! And as part of our Equity in Action series, we are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with Sip & Salsa, a cultural celebration of food, wine and dance, and a BizLaunch-sponsored Brunch featuring the insights of Hispanic entrepreneurs.

Our annual Oktoberfest event has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 22 and will feature a twist this year. We are partnering up with our 23rd Street Restaurant Row establishments - Los Tios, Beauty Champagne & Sugar Boutique, Crystal City Sports Pub, Freddie’s Beach Bar, and Enjera for Oktoberfest-inspired food and drink specials available to purchase at each restaurant. Learn more about these specials here

Synetic Theater is setting the mood for Halloween with performances of Dracula on their main stage leading up to their annual Vampire Ball. The Vampire Ball is National Landing’s hottest Halloween event, featuring Dracula themed cocktails, a live DJ and dancing, food, candy and more. Support our local theater and buy your tickets here!

We welcome the arrival of new entertainment businesses like Alamo Drafthouse and new corporate headquarters like Federated Wireless. These new businesses showcase why National Landing is becoming the region’s premier Innovation and Entertainment District and a leading smart city.

Additionally, we continue building upon our rich legacy of transportation infrastructure through exciting new implementations like the protected bike lane network being installed along Crystal Drive and groundbreakings for improvements to Boundary Channel Drive and Long Bridge. We look forward to more investments to come that will better meet the safety needs of current and future residents, employees, students, and visitors.

Best,

Tracy Sayegh Gabriel
