February 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

While it may not feel like it, spring is right around the corner, and we are looking forward to welcoming the return of outdoor programming and convening with friends and family at our favorite neighborhood spots both old and new!

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we will be hosting a Black History Month virtual event that is part of our quarterly “Equity in Action” series. Join us on February 24 for this impactful dialogue and discussion on the African American experience in Arlington County, that will be shared firsthand by local historians and community activists. In an effort to continue to support our small businesses and restaurants across National Landing, we’ll be launching the return of the “Love Local” grant program with the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) to provide financial support to those who remain in need. Look out for our announcement and application details soon. We are grateful for our partnership with RAMW in helping us to execute this much needed funding.

We can’t talk about the excitement of spring in our region without talking about the National Cherry Blossom Festival. With our partners at Amazon and JBG SMITH, we’re happy to celebrate our region’s favorite springtime tradition – the Cherry Blossom Festival. For the second year, National Landing will serve as an official partner of the Festival bringing pink surprise and delight moments across the river into northern Virginia.

As always stay updated via our social channels and website for upcoming spring announcements and programs.

Stay warm and kind,

TSG
