July 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

As the beginning of July illuminates our region around the nation’s capital, National Landing’s summer programming is set to expand even farther in an effort to activate our district and engage our growing community.
This summer, Fridays are for live music at Long Bridge Park and Saturdays are for shopping local. We are pleased to have an amazing lineup of eclectic  vendors who will set up shop every week from 10 AM to 3 PM in Crystal City at 2661 South Clark Street. Local artisans, creators, vintage traders, global cuisine, and more will continue showcasing throughout the summer and early fall their one-of-a-kind products to try, buy, and take home.
Adding to the flavors of National Landing, Banditos Tacos & Tequila had their grand opening last month. The Mexican street food inspired restaurant is staking an artfully bold presence among the tasteful variety of restaurants in West Post, also known as Pentagon Row. This is the first Virginia location of the avowed “taco temple.”
Last weekend, Blerdcon animated the Hyatt Regency Crystal City with nearly 5,000 enthusiastic attendees. Through events, activations, cosplay and more, this convention celebrates Blerd culture through contextually aware representation of this widely inclusive community. We were also able to take comedian and actor, Orlando Jones, around National Landing showing him all of our favorite views and dining options. Check out our video here. We are so happy to continue to support Blerdcon’s growth in very our own backyard of National Landing.
We continue to activate our outdoor spaces with free fitness classes led by Pure Barre, Hustle DMV, Brazen Fitness and Mind Your Body Oasis, and we look forward to unveiling our latest summer outdoor flex space at Gateway Green with a lineup of free, family-friendly events.
To keep up with all the fun, be sure to follow our social channels @NationalLanding!
