October 2021 - Letter from Executive Director

Dear National Landing Community,

Fall has finally arrived in National Landing! Although the weather may not feel like fall quite yet, we’re looking forward to the days ahead full of cool breezes, changing colors and community celebration to complement a season of long-awaited progress on many of the area’s development and capital projects.

This week we’re announcing our new fall campaign called, “Homecoming” that embraces the spirit of togetherness and community. This fall across National Landing, we’re leaning into events and activations that ignite nostalgia and the school spirit vibe. Homecoming at National Landing will truly celebrate the hope, the anticipation, and the joy of being together. Check out our website or social media to view our upcoming Homecoming schedule of events.

In keeping with our theme of homecoming, we will soon welcome our neighborhood back to transit by launching an enhancement project for the Crystal City metro plaza, as well as the soon to be announced mural wall public art project. Both of these important projects play a critical role in supporting our efforts to build a more vibrant public realm and accessible transit network. As more residents, workers and visitors engage with our community in the coming months, our hope is that this mural and the metro enhancement project, reflect the exciting and welcoming environment that we are fostering here in National Landing.

Finally, if you still haven’t explored the recently opened Long Bridge Park Aquatics and Fitness Center or the completed esplanade, let the autumn air inspire you and take in the views with a stroll down the raised walkway or go with family or friends to check out the indoor waterpark activities. These new amenities and the esplanade extension only add to the many existing miles of trails, acres of parks and abundant public plazas that our growing resident population and workforce greatly enjoy and benefit from every day. We are so grateful to have this first-class facility and ample green space in National Landing.

As always, stay connected with us this fall! Enjoy the cooler temperatures and the sight of familiar faces and places across National Landing.

With appreciation,

TSG
