January 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

Dear National Landing Community,

As the new year commences and we find ourselves persevering through these ongoing extraordinary times, National Landing continues to strive to encourage and inspire our businesses and residents in new and impactful ways. Reflecting on the past year, I am proud of how National Landing looks to the future with optimism and confidence. With that, we are diving headfirst into the new year with many more new initiatives, projects and programs designed to further support, promote and enhance our district and its vibrancy.

At the BID, we are so appreciative of our ongoing partnership with the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) and the support they continually provide to our restaurants. Once again, we’ll be sponsoring Winter Restaurant Week and covering the cost for our restaurants to participate. Show your support to our local restaurants during the week of January 17, who have shown us so much resilience and creativity over the past two years. We’ll also be partnering with RAMW to execute another winter relief program for our small businesses in need. More details about “Love Local” 2022 to be announced soon.

In partnership with Amazon, we are thrilled to officially partner again with the National Cherry Blossom Festival to bring our region’s beloved springtime tradition across the river to National Landing. Look out for details on ways to get involved and celebrate spring in National Landing. In the coming weeks, we also look to announce a line up of new as well as neighborhood favorites in programming for late winter and spring. If you haven’t already explored our latest lights installation – “Fallen Stars” by Australian-based artist collection, amigo & amigo, check it out at Gateway Green (101 12th Street) until the end of the month.

Amidst the challenges, we at the same time look ahead with hope, optimism and anticipation of what’s to come. Stay healthy and be kind.

Best,

Tracy Sayegh Gabriel
President & Executive Director
