June 2022 - Letter from Executive Director

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend as we spring into an active summer! We look forward to making the most of the warmer weather through an engaging variety of programming.

We are thrilled to present NaLa Friday’s at the Park, the return of the beloved Friday night music series at our new location, Long Bridge Park. This new setting is destined to welcome everyone to an easy going start to the weekend. We are also pleased to announce the start of National Landing ‘Stream Life, a series of crafty classes, featuring local vendors, and creative pop-up activations housed at our airstream on Gateway Green. The series will begin with free massages and is set to continue with a houseplant basics class from Rewild Plant and Flower Studio.

National Landing’s fitness series is in full swing with free HIIT, barre, yoga, CrossFit and more. Last month, Hustle DMV, who leads our Wednesday HIIT classes, announced that they will be leasing their first brick and mortar location at Metropolitan Park, the first phase of Amazon HQ2. In addition, Northern Virginia and DC based small businesses Conte’s Bikes, Social Burger, and South Block were also added to the lineup of Met Park ground-retailers set to open in 2023. We can’t wait to welcome you all to our community!

On June 9, we will Rock the Lot with Pride on the Hyatt Parking lot to celebrate Pride Month here in National Landing. Toastworthy will be providing specialty cocktails and Amazon’s Glamazon will have some colorful swag and other surprises in store for attendees. We also hope to soon announce additional programming throughout National Landing including new events in Pentagon City at Virginia Highlands Park and Potomac Yard at Center Park.

Thanks for bearing with us during a period of significant construction and rapid transformation – we look forward to continuing to enliven the area and find new locations to activate with events that help overcome the sounds of development. As always – stay connected with us @NationalLanding or check out our website for upcoming exciting announcements.

Best,

Tracy Sayegh Gabriel
President & Executive Director
